Connect with Colleagues at the WiLS Regional Community Meetings

Harness the collective knowledge of Wisconsin librarians by joining us for one of six regional community meetings hosted by WiLS and co-organized by WLA!  Our topic this year is raising the visibility of the library in the community.

We all understand the significant ways that library services and spaces have changed over the last few decades; library professionals like you have been the key drivers of that change!  To keep pace with new technology, changing populations, budget fluctuations, and shifting expectations, our libraries have evolved to respond to these changes and the needs of our unique communities.

But how well do our communities understand what our libraries are today? How do we communicate what the library is and what it can do for our stakeholders and users?  How do we raise the visibility of the library in the community (whether that’s a municipality, a school district, an academic institution, or an organization)? How do we best convey the value of the library?  What are the barriers to being seen in the community?

This series of six regional meetings in locations across the state of Wisconsin, coordinated jointly between WiLS and WLA, will provide a forum for sharing and discussing raising the visibility of the library in the community.  The meetings are free and open to anyone.  Join us in this conversation!
