ILS Consortium Study survey now available

WiLS is working on creating a “State of the ILS in Wisconsin” report, which will collect information from each ILS consortium that will be valuable when considering larger units of service for ILSs in the state.

The first step in this process is a survey of the ILS consortia in the state.

Below are links to each part of the survey.   Before you begin completing the online surveys, please review Some quick information about the ILS Consortium Survey and the printable version of the survey.

Part 1: General Information

Section 1: Looking for some numbers…

Section 2: Your ILS environment and current contract

Section 3: Licenses

Section 4: Governance

Section 5: Budget

Part 2: Expenses

One of the challenges of surveying ILS consortia in Wisconsin is that each consortium provides different services and resources as part of the ILS budget.  Part 2 of this survey attempts to determine what services/resources are provided and where those services/resources are budgeted.  The term “ILS budget” in this part of the survey refers to whatever budget document was provided for Part 1, Section 5.

Section 1: Supplies & equipment

Section 2: Catalog enhancements & other add-ons

Section 3: Staffing

Section 4: Resource sharing/inter-system delivery

Section 5: Other services provided

Part 3: Some scenarios

This part of the survey asks you to imagine some scenarios where questions are raised by ILS member libraries.

Part 3: Some scenarios…

Part 4: Thinking about larger units of service

There is some talk around the state about mergers between multiple ILS consortia or perhaps a statewide ILS.  This section asks for impressions of what the challenges and advantages might be, both from the library system perspective and the library perspective.

Part 4: Thinking about larger units of service
