WiLSWorld 2015 Call for Proposals

WiLS and the WiLSWorld Planning Team officially invite your proposals for programs and showcases for WiLSWorld 2015.   UPDATE:  The deadline to submit your proposals has been extended to Friday, March 20th.

WiLSWorld, WiLS’ annual membership meeting and library technology and innovation conference will be held on July 21st and 22nd at the Pyle Center in Madison.  We invite your participation to share with the Wisconsin library community the interesting, informative, and innovative ideas or projects you have been working on or learning about.

PROGRAM PROPOSALS

We welcome proposals for panels, individual presentations, hands-on sessions, or other types of sessions.  Proposals can appeal to audiences of any technology skill level.  Some topics of interest include, but are not limited to: digital preservation, open access, gaming and gamification, digital humanities, innovative approaches to promoting and publicizing library services, repurposing software or applications for library use, STEAM and STEM related initiatives, mobile application development or use, and digital content rights.

Preference will be given to programs that involve collaboration between academic departments or between library types, and programs which involve non-library partners.  We are also especially interested in hands-on programs, either as a conference session or as a half- or full-day preconference workshop.

Presenter Commitment

Presenters for accepted proposals commit to:

  • Participating in a brief webinar to help craft an amazing presentation
  • Coordinating with a WiLS staff member on introductory bios and technology needs
  • Collaborating with other presenters, for panel programs
  • Registering for either the full conference or the single day on which you are presenting
  • Sharing slides or other presentation materials for publication on the WiLS website following the conference

MEMBER AND PARTNER SHOWCASE

Do you have something that you’ve been working on that you want to share with community, but prefer a different approach to a conference program?  WiLSWorld 2015 will feature a Member and Partner Showcase so you can talk directly with other attendees about what you’re doing during an informal, hour-long showcase, much like a poster session.  The topic of your showcase can be anything related to library technology and/or innovative approaches to library services, programming, planning, or processes.

PROPOSAL DEADLINE

The deadline for submitting your proposal is Friday, March 20th.  For program proposals, you’ll be asked to identify the presenter(s), the title and description of your program proposal, suggested length and track, and attendee takeaways.  For showcase proposals, you’ll be asked to identify the presenter(s) and the title, description, and audience of what you plan to exhibit.

Submit Your Proposal

If you have any questions about submitting your proposal for programs or for a showcase, contact Andrea Coffin at or 414-979-9457.

We look forward to your ideas!
