Academic Product Spotlight – March 2018: PowerNotes

We’re delighted to announce an exciting, discounted offer from our new vendor-partner, PowerNotes. PowerNotes is a new tool that allows writers to save, organize, and annotate sources in digital format. It is designed to address the challenges inherent to source-based writing in the digital environment and seeks to improve writing quality with tools that provide an efficient and continuous workflow through the entire digital research and writing process.

PowerNotes incorporates features that:

  • Improve reading comprehension and retention in the digital environment
  • Prevent unintentional plagiarism
  • Enable students to gather, annotate, and save research content and citation information efficiently
  • Put students in the best position to write by providing an efficient organizational framework
  • Provide instructors and librarians with visibility into the students’ research process

PowerNotes is a subscription-based, Google Chrome (and soon Mozilla Firefox) extension that allows users at your institution to sign up for a free premium account that allows students and faculty to intuitively and easily manage sources, notes, and annotations. The PowerNotes pricing structure is innovative in that the price is based on the level of campus-wide adoption. Your institution will start with a deep discount and won’t be charged the full price for your FTE tier unless 75% of the student body is using the resource!

And the discounts are great!  WiLS members will always get a 15% discount off of list price, but if you subscribe before May 30th, there’s an early adopter bonus making the discount 35% off of list price. So, if you’d like a quote or a demonstration, contact Jeff Brunner () today!
