Member News: Marshall Community Library/Post Office
The Marshall Community Library recently celebrated six months of providing postal services to their community! The first Village Post Office (VPO) in a library opened there in February 2013.
The VPO model allows local businesses (or libraries!) to contract with the Postal Service to operate the VPO. The library offers Forever stamps, pre-paid package drop off and a collection box for their community. Director Diana Skalitzky has found the program to be a success and would encourage other small town libraries to consider providing these valuable services.
For more information, see the library’s Village Post Office page or this article from the Waterloo/Marshall Courier.
