ALA Seeks Help to Modify DRM Rules in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act

ALA’s Office for Information Technology Policy has put out a call to libraries of all types for examples of their need to circumvent DRM for the legal purposes of instruction or research. The U.S. Copyright Office reviews such examples every three years to determine circumstances under which such circumventions are permissible for the following 3-year cycle. This rule making process includes various stakeholders including ALA, and their looking for your help in providing such examples.
