Webinar series — Managing Digital Content Over Time: An Introduction to Digital Preservation

Organizations of all kinds create and use a wide variety of digital resources in the course of business. These resources represent each organization’s intellectual capital and, as such, have value and need to be carefully managed and preserved. Upper Midwest Digital Creators and Curators Google Group

Do you work on digital projects at your library? Consider joining the new Upper Midwest Digital Creators and Curators Google Group!  This group is open to all digital content creators, curators, and managers working in libraries, archives, museums, and historical societies in the Upper Midwest. It’s a place to discuss ideas, tips, news, and training opportunities regarding digital collection development, digital content management, digital preservation, and related issues.

If you have never used Google Groups before, the functionality is not all that different from a listserv . You can still use your email to read and reply to messages, or you can visit the Google Group webpage to view messages (NOTE: you need a Gmail email address to be able to reply to or post messages via the web interface, or to manage any notification preferences).

The group is moderated by staff from Minitex (Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota) and WiLS (Wisconsin). To join the group, head to groups.google.com/group/umwdigital and choose “Apply to join group” or contact Sara Ring, Minitex () or Emily Pfotenhauer, WiLS () to request an invitation.

We’re looking for experts!

WiLS is happy to announce that we are now recruiting experts for our “Experts Connection” service.  We’re looking for smart, talented people in the Wisconsin library community that are interested in sharing their knowledge and expertise with others for paid projects.
