Hello! My name is Caroline Pacey and I will be an intern at WiLS for the summer.
I graduated from La Roche University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a degree in Literature in the spring of 2020. Now, I am in the Information and Library Science Graduate Program at UW Madison. I am concentrating on the data and information analytics side of library programs.
I have worked in many different jobs within libraries. I shelved books, shifted books on the stacks, worked in interlibrary loan, at the information desk, as well as at the circulation desk. I also started a book club for students at my undergraduate school. Being involved with WiLS is a great change of pace!
On the personal side, I am from a small town in Pennsylvania called Mars. I have a three-year-old dog named Raquel Belle. She is a border collie and German shepherd mix with a sassy attitude. Some of my hobbies include cross-stitching, reading, and playing with Raquel.

In September of 2020, a second cohort of small, rural, and tribal libraries from around the country embarked on community memory projects thanks to the Accelerating Promising Practices funding opportunity from IMLS. Once again, WiLS is serving as a mentor organization. From September 2020 through August 2022, Emily Pfotenhauer and Community Memory & Digital Archives Consultant Ellen Brooks, with the help of Vicki Tobias, are offering support and cohesion for these projects and their managers.

In 2019, WiLS funded Lodi Public Library’s amazing idea of partnering with the Lodi High School to teach podcasting to high school students. They did that AND they have produced a ton of great material to share with other WiLS members looking to get into the podcasting – and teaching podcasting – business! Read more
