This year, WiLSWorld will be held on July 23rd, with workshops on July 24th, at the Pyle Center in Madison.
We are excited to share that WiLSWorld’s 2019 Keynote Speaker will be Rebecca Stavick, Executive Director of Do Space in Omaha, co-founder of Open Nebraska, Library Journal Mover & Shaker, and member of the Urban Libraries Council Executive Board.
Read more about Rebecca Stavick on her website.
Conference registration will open in mid-May, so be sure to keep an eye on the WiLSWorld website for more news as it develops.

Jessamyn West has been helping people with their computers in rural Vermont for 15 years and she’s created a simple privacy toolkit to help people understand the complicated world of online privacy. She’ll share her talk and the resources she uses to support the talk so that more librarians can help their patrons stay safer and more confident online.
This webinar will be recorded and shared.
Jessamyn West has been speaking on the intersection of libraries, technology and politics since 2003. Her specific interest areas are:
She has given presentations in thirty-eight U.S. states, three Australian states, and six Canadian provinces. She has given workshops, keynotes, and all-day sessions on technology and library topics. She has written book introductions and chapters and edited two compilations. Librarian.net, her professional blog, just celebrated its twentieth year online and was one of the first librarian blogs. While she travels and speaks often, her main work is at home in Orange County Vermont, helping libraries and librarians make sense of technology and teaching adult education classes in basic technology topics. She has been teaching basic technology classes for twenty-five years.

Last year, we launched our Ideas to Action Fund, a grant program designed to help our members move their good ideas into practice. We awarded funds to six libraries and provided some project management for a few of them to help move their projects forward. During our 2019 Membership Meeting, you’ll hear from Ideas to Action Fund recipients as they talk about what inspired their project, what motivated them to move from an idea to a project, and the steps they took to get there.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and perhaps even plan for your own application to the 2019 Ideas to Action Fund! We’ll also share highlights from our work in 2018 in consulting, cooperative purchasing, consortium management, and events and education.
Your continued membership in WiLS is important to us and to other members. We hope you can join us to learn about how Wisconsin libraries are driving library service forward in the state.
We do encourage you to register so we know how many people to expect and, if you miss the meeting or want to hear it again, you can receive the recording right in your inbox.
We hope to “see” you there!
