The first-ever Upper Midwest Digital Collections Conference took place August 18-19, 2014 at the University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis campus, Minneapolis, MN.

About

This two-day conference, jointly organized by Minitex and WiLS, included a Northern CONTENTdm Users Group Meeting (sponsored by OCLC) on August 18 followed by a more general “All Things Digital” event on August 19 (with additional sponsorship by The MediaPreserve). We were pleased to welcome Matthew Miller from the New York Public Library Labs and Matthew Butler from the University of Iowa (DIY History) as our keynote speakers and a diverse program of presenters in eighteen breakout sessions.

Who Attended?

Conference attendees represented 17 states from across the Upper Midwest and beyond, including staff from state universities, private colleges, public libraries, state libraries, museums, corporate archives and library consortia. View the organizations represented at the conference on our Google map and Twitter list.

During the conference, we asked attendees: What’s the coolest thing you’ve digitized? What do you want to digitize? See some of their answers in this 3 1/2 minute video.
