Patronlink helps libraries identify potential patrons in addition to analyzing and gaining insights into current patrons. From the people who bring you, ReferenceUSA, Patronlink can help you visualize your service area to see your patrons and, more importantly, residents like your patrons who are not currently patrons. One of our greatest joys at WiLS is hearing our members tell the stories of the big and important work they are doing – interesting new projects or initiatives, or even interesting and new approaches to old projects. And, in addition to hearing about it, it makes us even happier when we can share those stories with other members. Each month, WiLS is proud to feature an interview with one of our library members. This month, we interview Jon Mark Bolthouse, Director of the Fond du Lac Public Library.
At WiLS, we want to bring valuable information to our library partners, including information about the missions and big ideas of the vendors they may already do business with. Each month, WiLS interviews a vendor partner in order to bridge the gap and open the door to valuable collaborations. This month, we share insights from Bob Whitbeck, Outside Sales Consultant with Follett, a new WiLS vendor partner! Read more
This free webinar was hosted by WiLS and presented by Sheila Stoeckel on Thursday, November 3rd from 1-2pm! Below is the recording from the webinar and you can find all the responses to the chat question about your enduring ideas here.
Sheila is Director of the UW-Madison Libraries Teaching & Learning Programs and one of the 2016 winners of the WAAL Information Literacy Award for Sift & Winnow: Libraries@UW, a highly interactive online learning tutorial for students with direct assessment measures. Sheila also serves on the ACRL Student Learning & Information Literacy Committee’s Framework group.
The Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education moves library instruction from a standards approach to “interconnected core concepts.” During this webinar, we’ll talk about how to use the frames in your instructional design. Using a modified Backward Design approach, you’ll be able to design effective and engaging library instruction sessions. Strategies for assessment and evaluation will also be included. Bring your Framework for Information Literacy questions, experiences, challenges, and examples to share with colleagues.

Facebook Group, and then join DPI’s Ryan Claringbole and WiLS’ Stef Morrill on Wednesday, October 26th at WLA 2016 for a group discussion.
Be sure to invite your library colleagues to join the conversation!
Josh Steans, of member library UW-Stout, attended the 25th Annual Minitex Interlibrary Loan Conference. He attended as one of our “GoodWiLS Ambassadors”. The GoodWiLS Ambassadors program subsidizes WiLS member library staff to attend events and then report back to us on what they learned. Josh saw so much great stuff in Minnesota and we’re very excited to share it with you! A recording of his informational webinar is below! Enjoy, and please let us know if you can think of other GoodWiLS Ambassador opportunities!
