One of our greatest joys at WiLS is hearing our members tell the stories of the big and important work they are doing – interesting new projects or initiatives, or even interesting and new approaches to old projects. And, in addition to hearing about it, it makes us even happier when we can share those stories with other members. Each month, WiLS is proud to feature an interview with one of our library members.
This month, we interview Amy Manion, Director of Library Services at Waukesha County Technical College.

If you’re attending the Charleston Conference next week, keep an eye out for new or innovative library products that WiLS should know about. We’re always on the lookout for what’s new in the library world for possible inclusion in our cooperative purchasing service. But no one from WiLS will be at this year’s conference. So, we’re looking to you to share anything cool or innovative you see from the vendors there. Sharing with us will enter you into a drawing for a $10.00 Visa gift card!
Entering couldn’t be easier. If you learn about a new database, eBook platform, streaming service or anything that you think WiLS should know about, snap a picture of it! Then, send the photo to and you’ll be entered into the drawing. Later in November, we’ll select a winner from all of the entries.
Not only do you stand to win $10.00, but you’ll be helping to boost the signal on something new and exciting for WiLS members. It might even lead to a new consortium purchase!

You may have noticed that WiLS has some new faces among its staff. We are excited to grow our skills and improve our services by bringing new members into our team while also leveraging the experience and strengths that our existing team contributes. In the coming months, we will be sharing a little more about WiLS staff members, both new and experienced, in their own words.
This month, we talk with WiLS Financial Coordinator and WiLS’ prodigal daughter, Lisa Marten.

Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. has reached out to WiLS as a potential new vendor-partner. WiLS’ process for evaluating potential new partners includes a period of evaluating member interest. That’s where you come in!
Mary Ann Liebert is a leading independent publisher of scientific, technical, and medical content, known worldwide for its prescience and establishment of authoritative peer-reviewed journals, books, and trade publications in cutting-edge fields such as biotechnology, biomedical research, medicine and surgery, public health research and policy, technology and engineering, law, environmental research and policy, and other specialized disciplines.
Collections are available in a variety of disciplines. Some that may be of particular interest to our members are Nursing, Environmental Research & Public Health Research. Here is a link to a list to all of their collections: Liebert Journal Collections
So, if you’re an academic library, please take a few moments and have a look at Mary Ann Liebert’s offerings. Think about whether the content being offered is something that your institution would be interested in purchasing or subscribing to. Then, take our brief survey to help us gauge our members’ interest in the vendor. WiLS requires at least three members to show genuine interest in a new vendor in order to proceed. The survey will close on October 19th, 2019.
